What can be returned?

    Because 4Nscale (Rio Grande Hobbies) wants our customers to be completely satisfied with their purchases our return policy is simple: as long as the item(s) purchased is in “as-new” condition, the product may be returned within 30 days of receiving the shipment. The product must be returned in the original packaging. Any non-defective item that has been altered in any way from its original condition, including the product packaging, will not be accepted as a return.

    Exception: 4Nscale may refuse to accept as a return any item(s) that are “Special Order”, defined as items not generally offered on our web site, but were requested by the customer to be purchased by 4Nscale for sale to the customer.

    Please Note: Returned merchandise is subject to a 10% Re-Stocking fee. Pre-Ordered merchandise that is subsequently returned will be subject to a 15% Re-Stocking fee.

How do I return merchandise?

    Just follow these steps:


    1. Include a note that indicates the reason why an item is being returned, i.e. wrong product sent, wrong product ordered, the product was damaged, the product was defective.
    2. Please indicate whether you want a replacement, a refund or a credit issued to your account.
    3. Be sure to include all original packaging, instructions, warranty cards, etc. that was included with the item being returned.
    4. Returned merchandise should be shipped to:

    5. We recommend shipping returns by UPS or US Priority Mail which both provide shipping insurance and tracking services. It is your responsibility to get the merchandise back to us. 4Nscale is not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in transit.

Do you reimburse for shipping?

    4Nscale will only reimburse “ground” shipping charges if an item is returned due to an error by us.

How do you reimburse me for returned merchandise?


    There are four ways to receive reimbursement for returned merchandise:

    1. You can choose to have the item replaced.
    2. You can choose to have your credit card credited for the amount due.
    3. You can choose to have us issue you a refund check.
    4. You can use the amount due as a credit to your account that can be applied to future purchases.
